Hello and welcome to my website.
My name is Gráinne and I am a Textile Designer from Gorey, Co. Wexford.
I am inspired by the ever changing colours and textures of Shorelines to Sunsets, along the south east coastline and the Wild Atlantic Way.
I love the Sea, its calming colours and the different textures that appear during the seasons and how the effects of weather changes the landscape over time. There is always something new to look at and capture for my work. I am blessed with living so close to many beautiful beaches dotted along the Wexford coastline.
I have a background in handwoven textiles and mixed media. My textile artwork has often been mistaken for paintings due to the way I use my materials and unique techniques that I have developed over many years.
There is a sense of movement to the blending of colour and surface detail that are key features of my work.
I design mixed media textile artwork, lampshades among other products.
I hope you enjoy my work and that it reminds you of a 'little piece of Ireland' every time you look at it.
